Do you know about these magical creatures- The Thing? If not, acknowledge this text and read on. After you will know everything about them.

APPEARANCE:

The Things have a very uncanny appearance. Male Things have long tails which streches up to 2 metres in diameter. The tails are crucial to The Thing; they use it to lash out any preadator and to protect themselves from one. The bigger the tails, the better and stronger the tails are. Also, these creatures have large eyes as large as wheels. They use their eyes to see in the dark; they are nocturnal. Futhermore, it has a wingspan of 10 metres which makes them soar through the sky (120 miles per hour) . As a result they can escape from traps and they can find their preys in seconds. Additionally, the Things have deadly claws which deavour preys in a flash.

HABITATS:

These Things have an interseting  habitats. Most Things live in the dark woods where they can’t be disturbed. They also live in the forest to absorb sunlight; kid Things need to live a year and a half in the sun before they can go anywhere else. A few Things live in the Whirling Wastes. It is always windy and stormy there.

DIET:

These unique animals have an unusual diet. Many Things (that live in the forests) eat the rays from the sun. The sun makes the Things grow taller and bigger. Other Things (that live in the Whirling Wastes) eat snow and ice. It makes them grow smaller. If they eat something poisonous they will start swelling up. Their lips will turn blue and they will have hair all over their body. The only cure to this poison is an emerald potion which you will get from the Wild Witch’s Cavern.

Now you know all about these unique creatures, you can tell your friends a lot about The Things.

Features of a Minotaur (homework) by Joe D

Most people think minotaurs are foul beasts like the one in Greek Mythology but actually they’re not. They are kind, loving creatures. Anyway, I am here to tell you about what they really are like.

Minotaurs have two long horns made of the same material as elephant tusks. Next, they posess a large bull head and rear legs. Additionally, minotaurs own the body of a human. Also, Their skin is so tough it can stop a bullet.

Minotaurs have the biggest brain of any mythical creature. Although they are known for fighting, they are as wise as they are skilled in combat. Don’t make them angry! Minotaurs are extremely bad-tempered.

They are very fond of living in enormous castles. Minotaurs love castles because it makes them feel safe as they are incredibly wary. Furthermore, unusally they love stone.

Now you know what they are you can show off to your friends about your phenomel knowledge on minotaurs.

Home work Emily and the Thing by Alex

Should Emily have gone to fech things for the thing? Many people think Emily should not have gone because she was tired but some people think that she should have gone to fech the objects . What do you think?

Many people think that she should have gone to get it for the thing because the thing will be crying and Emily won’t be able to get to sleep. Firstly, she needs to get the thing to sleep to get Emily asleep. Next, she needs a friend because she might not have any friends. By getting the thing’s objects, Emily will be a buddy.

On the other hand, people think that she should not have gone and got the thing’s property.  Firstly, she was scared  to go throuth snow storms, gust of winds and rain. Next, she shouldn’t have gone because she doesn’t know who the thing was.

Having conserd both sides of the argument, people think she shouldn’t have gone because the thing is lazy and it needs to get it for it self.

How to spot a Thing (homework) by Joe D

As you all know we have been learning the story of Emily and the Thing. In this blog I will tell you how to spot one.

First of all, you must learn the features of one. Male Things display three long, razor-sharp horns, used for mating. Secondly, both genders have two eyes the size of plates! They use them for seeing in the dark as they are nocturnal. Finally, they have the densest fur of any animal/monster!

Most Things live in spooky, dark woods because apparently it helps them get to sleep. They are usually found at the top of only the highest trees. Normally, they are  solitary unless they are in a family or in a bachelor pride. Sometimes, you can also find them deep underground.

Things are carnivorous although they oddly have a certain loving for milk ;it’s a biological mystery! Their favourite food is venison so if you want a close-up make sure you pack some! Things have no natural predators ,this means they are top of the food chain. Although, most Things unusually die of attacks or defences of their prey!

Now you know about these unique creatures, you can go and see for yourself!

Top tips:

Don’t get too close! They will attack! Also, if you feed them their favourite food ( venison ) they will be your friend for life. Funny that?!

Dear Mr Dewey

i’m writing  to say that I think when year six should be allowed out when we do sats as we need the exercise and fresh air to keep us going. my first reason   is that we will be bored during sats and be working so hard that we will need the vitamin’s and energy from running around. Also many people think children need energy or they become tired and results and their brain will not be as focus as they usually would be. SURLY you realize that keeping us in side for aprocsamatly   5 hours and 40 minuets is actually quite cruel  as we are still children who need lots of exercise and vitamins from the sun. as a result, 89% of scientists( that study the energy of kids) believe that children should get up to 2 hours  of sun light from outdoors at least twice  each day because of lac of growth and heath all this means that we should deserve a whole  play time and lunchtime as we would be working hard and need fresh air.

Dear Mr Dewey

I think you should change your mind on this decision. I think children need a break from learning because it will refresh their minds and then be ready to learn. Also, we need fresh air as it is better than being inside all day.

Firstly, we need breaks from learning because it will refresh their brains. Also, children will not work properly because they are cooped up in a class room while being really hot and not produce as much work as possible. Furthermore, they should have the same time as the younger children as they are still children and should all be treated the same.

Moreover, you are not allowed to have a drink while working so they might  get dehydrated and not do as much work as usual. Additionally, you are not allowed to go to the toilet during lessons so you will not be paying attention and will not do the work properly so they will not learn. Adding on to that, they might get stressed out about the work so they might not produce as much work.

Also, sitting on a chair for hours on end they will lose concentration  and not do as much work as everyone else. Furthermore, if you do something for too long then you lose concentration  and will not pay attention  to the teacher. Last but not least, physical exercise is important for the brain and before you say sitting on a chair is exercising it is not.

In conclusion, it is quite obvious that this idea is nonsense. They need a break from learning. So please don’t make this decision.

Operation save Earth part 1 by Daniel Clark

The empty horizon stretched on infinitely, spreading misery over the once-green Earth. Rocks were protruding from the outer crust like shark`s fins. A thick, compact layer of minuscule grains of sand suggested that there had sandstorm quite recently. He fell onto his knees. It was a robot for humans had become extinct many millennia ago. Why was he there? Surely there had to be a reason. He had collapsed from the inevitable loss of power caused by this uninhabitable, barren wasteland. His circuits were filled with forlorn emptiness as he stared into the endless oblivion of this ruined world. The atmosphere was filled with scorching rays of the merciless, remorseless sun killing off almost all life. The robot, who was being internally destroyed, caught a glimpse of the only life for miles around.

He crawled over to it. A small shoot with leaves that were blackened around the edges, drooping slightly and loosing its green colour. He scrutinized then touched it to check his optics weren’t malfunctioning. The plant was shrivelled up looking agonised. The plant was dying. He was Tabula Rasa 57 BODMAS O S E and it was his duty to make this plant live even if he died…

A poem by harry

I will throw in my box,

The last tick of a grandfather clock,

The skull of a family member,

The final demonic nightmare.

I will throw in my box,

The first bite of golden cheese,

A bronze sunset,

Fresh blood on a midnight blue arrow.

I will throw in my box,

The final flower from a stone-grey feild,

The first lavender hope of victory,

The first blink of the Illuminate triangle.

I will throw in my box,

A drop from a crystal blue lake,

The final silver whisper of death,

The third wish from a genie’s lantern.

The box is a cell for demons

it holds deep secrets of the grim reaper

and the weapon of death.

The Empty World by Mitusha

The first rays of sunlight shone across the desolate place. Dismal clouds loomed over, feeling pity for the lifeless peice of land. It was a dehydrated Earth. Staggering across the large expanse of sand, the robot collasped out of thirst. He was filled by emptiness. He stood there still. Motionless. Until he saw the last peice of life!

Gathering all his might, he stumbled towards the plant. The robot dropped down to his knees and observed the plant’s health. He stared intently. It was the last thread of life. It drooped forward as life started fading away from it second by second. Grabbing the plant gently in his hands, he looked at the mountain. It was the only thing to protect it…

Gripping onto a rock, he held on for life. With determination, he clambered up still holding on to the plant. The robot scaled the cliff as rocks crumbled under his feet. He slipped! Kicking his legs in thin air, he searched for a hold. The robot grabbed onto a rock; fear went over his face. His hands slipped from the rock! He fell back… The only thing he thought of was the plant. Was he going to save it?

The wind howled from the peak of the cliff. With a sudden movement, a hand clawed at the loose rocks. It was the robot! He hauled himself up with the plant still safe in his hands. He finished the final hurdle. Determination filled him as he stumbled forward. He collapsed out of exhaustion but still carried on with his task. The plant, which was now hanging on to its last seconds, slipped out of his hands and his spirit slipped out of him.

The clouds loomed over the peak of the cliff. The leaf fell on the still robot. He lay there motionless under the tree. The little plant was now a big tree. The fog and mist swirled round the life filled mountain…

A GIFT FROM THE OCEAN PART 1 BY HARRY

“Well this was not here yesterday,”yelled Dox to Sam, staring at some find of ship-like metal wreck. It was covered with thick ivy and old rusted steel bars hung from the giant slice on the side. It gave Sam a shiver down his spine just staring at it. Both boys started climbing rapidly to the high-up slice. Up and up they climbed. Dox was the first one to make it up and through the slice. He froze; everything started spinning. He was terrified of heights. Dox finally came out of his trance and saw that the ship was on an angle so that the once-flat and still surface had now become like the sides of a triangle. One wrong step and he would smash the cracked glass below.
